The Shelbourne at Sway/Macular Disease Society ROI
The Shelbourne at Sway is passionate about the future of the retirement sector. It believes this society’s senior citizens are individuals who deserve the best possible lifestyle options in an environment where they can lead a fulfilling life. The Macular Disease Society aims to build confidence and independence for those with central vision impairment.
The Aim
To raise awareness of The Shelbourne at Sway, the work it does and benefits to be gained by working closely with the Macular Disease Society.
The Approach
The residents, their families and friends held a fundraiser for the Macular Disease Society. There is a natural link between the two organisations – macular degeneration is more common in the 65+ age group. Doug Bowden from the Macular Disease Society visited the Shelbourne to give a talk and to accept the money raised. CG organised a photograph for local press.
The Results
As a direct result of coverage gained by CG in the local press, the Macular Disease Society was contacted by readers and donations were made.
