We have an immediate vacancy for a PHP web developer to join our agency. The previous person is leaving due to relocation and the work is ready, so immediate starts are a preference. Ideally we are looking for the skills listed below
Overview
CG is an established and solid agency which has been around for 15 years. We work with clients from all sectors. The team is small but perfectly formed with each member bringing their own specialism to the agency. We are seeking help in moving forward digitally and adding to a good portfolio of projects. The further aim is to grow the digital side of the business by 50% year on year.
We are looking to for a mid level web developer who wants to take on more responsibility. The position will mean the person will be I.C all development for the company and they will be joining at a time of growth. They will be able to bring on juniors as we move forward however, at first they must be prepared to work with studio staff (who can do html and css) and placements.
We are looking for someone who wants to settle and develop more than just web site – becoming a key member of the team and hopefully a future member of our management staff. We want the right person but ideally are looking for someone to start ASAP while the outgoing person is here to pass over (NB leaving due to relocation).

You will need to be able to;
Produce w3c standard XHTML and CSS documents that are minimal and efficient and to specification.
Take graphical designs from the studio and dissect them to produce functional user-interfaces.
Be part of the planning and specification stage plus be able to extract a development brief.
Show evidence and understanding of how to manage a job and avoid project creep
Advise the studio on technical restraints of any design solutions they may have arrived at.
Have an understanding of costing and budgeting – be able to cost up a job time-wise fast.
Write a technical specification from a given brief that can be used to build a suitable application. This will include deliverable goals and objectives.
Produce object orientated PHP5 applications that are well formed, well documented and scalable.
Investigate and evaluate new technologies and other way in which can aid the workflow of the company and the department.
Present to clients an application or theory that has been created or research by the company.
Register and manage domain names that the company is responsible for, including the purchase of new domains.
Build HTML emails from supplied artwork, which display correctly in all mainstream mail clients. Some emails may require bespoke template tags that are used within our email marketing solution.
Perform basic server maintenance using both the ‘Plesk’ user interface and from command line on both our live and internal development servers.
Be aware of techniques and best practices when building websites to optimise for organic search traffic.
Be involved with the setup and manage PPC campaigns, including Google adwords.
Have a working understanding of SEO and Social media – be able to support social media campaign with campaign development, landing pages
Keep a record of any essential information using an internal wiki based system.
Liaise directly with clients on occasions so a good telephone manner is essential. Must be able to cope well under pressure and be prepared to go above and beyond to get the job done. Commitment is essential and the right candidate will be looking for a long term role and be part of the team.
Handle multiple tasks at the same time.
Be open to pitching in as one of the team and helping with everything a busy, full service agency has to throw at you.
